U3A Ashby
The Ashby U3A is a local branch affiliated to the National U3A. For over 40 years It has existed for semi or fully retired people who want to share their knowledge, experience and talents with other like-minded folk. There is no lower age limit. It promotes lifelong learning in a friendly,fun way.
Joining the U3A is a good chance to get out and try new things in a cosy, sociable environment and it's never too late to expand your horizons so why not give it a go?
As well as monthly speakers, there are lots of varied interest groups to try including:- Family History, Literature, Walking, Gardening, Computing, Photography, Drawing and Painting, Trips and Visits and History. More are being added regularly.
Monthly meetings are held at Ashby de la Zouch Congregational Church, Kilwardby St. (opposite Holy Trinity Church) from 2 until 3.30pm on the last Tuesday of the month.
Everyone is most welcome to join and to start with visitors only pay £1 per meeting. Once a subscription is paid, there are no added costs for the majority of interest groups because those meetings take place in members' homes. The only added cost would be if a visiting speaker or tutor was invited.
