The Heritage Open Days programme in South Derbyshire this year extends over four days from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 September and offers a varied selection of places to explore.

Two villages by the river Trent will be unfolding their histories to the public over Heritage Open Days 2010.

Find out more about Twyford and its ferry on Saturday, September 11, 2010 when Twyford Parish Church on Ferry Lane (DE73 7HJ) will be holding a local history display between 10am and 4pm including pictures of the ferry, family trees and the Twyford School logbook.
