Village Village Hall

Village Hall

The Village Hall, situated in Ingleby Lane at the heart of the village, is a popular meeting place for local groups and societies and home to the Under-Fives and the weekly Youth Club. It is used for regular meetings of local WI groups, the Garden Club, the Historical Society, and the Indoor Bowls Club, and several Art Classes meet there, attracted by the light, airy Main Hall, and ample car parking.

The building, or parts of it, can be booked for private events. It is a popular venue for celebration lunches, parties and wedding receptions, all benefitting from the newly refitted kitchen which lends itself to self or outside catering.

The Hall is licensed to accommodate up to 120 persons, and the large stage allows for concerts, shows or public meetings. Those booking the venue can apply to the local authority for a “temporary event notice” to allow for the sale of alcohol.

The Hall is in an attractive setting. It has double glass doors opening out to the surrounding lawns and trees, ideal for summer parties and wedding photographs.

The accommodation comprises:

Entrance Porch     (notice boards)
Entrance Hall    (cloaks, men’s, women’s & disabled toilets)
Main Hall                        40’ x 30’      (9.14m x 12.19m)
Large Committee Room                26’ 6”x 14’6”  (8.1m  x  4.4m)
Kitchen                        25’9”x11’1”       (7.85m x 3.37m)

There are also storage rooms. Ample car-parking is available.

The Village Hall Committee is prepared to negotiate charges with an organization or individual unable to meet the above standard rates.

The Committee is anxious to encourage the continuation of existing uses of the Hall, and to facilitate the introduction of new ventures. Ideas and proposals are always welcome.

Following on from the installation of the new Range Cooker and stainless steel furniture in 2009, the kitchen has now been completely refitted to a high standard. There is more storage space, improved sink areas and new hot water facilities. The equipment is in use alternate Tuesdays by the thriving Ticknall Luncheon Club serving 40 to 50 covers, and is ideal for outside catering for parties and wedding receptions.
